This 40-hour advanced professional development training course is designed for yoga teachers and yoga therapists who would like to bring yoga, medical yoga, (or their specialization area) into a hospital, business, or academic environment. This comprehensive course takes you through clear and detailed steps for how to: 1) set up your practice, 2) establish a business plan, 3) write a proposal, 4) get your foot in the door and 5) once you are hired, help you to understand and implement the appropriate protocols for working in a hospital, business, or academic environment.
Dr. Mala has over 35 years of extensive experience bringing yoga into hospitals, businesses, and academia. She will take you through all the critically important steps of:
Brainstorming, Planning and Establishing a Mission Statement
Getting a domain name, a trademark, logo, licensure, LLC’s, & writing a Business Plan.
Writing a hospital, academic, or business proposal and who to contact.
Putting together your Vitae or Resume; Networking Skills; and Interviewing Skills.
Understanding hospital protocols for writing goals and objectives, case notes, patient outcomes and responding to referrals.
Establishing salary, class structure, pilot classes, fee-for-service or contractor concepts.
Understanding and partnering with JCAHO standards, established preventative initiatives, and wellness programs.
Eligibility: All yoga teachers and yoga therapists from all traditions are welcome. Students receive 40 Credit Hours - IAYT and Yoga Alliance. This course is also an elective through many yoga therapy schools and/or many schools accept the course for elective credits.

Part Two: Part One and Part Two complement each other and are not meant to be taken separately. Part Two is offered either on zoom or in person and 17 hours of continuing credit is provided.
