This powerful workshop will review research in brain science that show how yoga and mindfulness practices impact on mental and emotional health. The presenters will review the concepts of resiliency, emotional health, and healing related to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and mood states. Practical applications of yoga and mindfulness will be shared that impact on brain function and vagus nerve tone. Students will leave with a deeper understanding of how a combination of health psychology, yoga, and neuroscience contribute to health and healing.

Practices that rewire the brain and positively impact mood states
Research on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and how trauma affects mental health and physical health outcomes
A discussion of how childhood trauma impacts the brain and body differently than adult trauma, single-event trauma or chronic patterns of trauma
